Hi! My name is Natalie Waldo! I am excited to begin my first season as the Head Swim & Dive Coach at Creekview High School. I bring a strong background as both a competitive swimmer and coach, with a passion for developing athletes both in and out of the pool.
I have been coaching since 2015 and spent the past four and a half years as the Lead Age Group Coach with Cherokee Swim Club. During my coaching career, I have helped guide swimmers to Long Course and Short Course Divisional, State, and Sectional-level meets.
As a swimmer, I have more than 10 years of competitive experience. I began swimming through a YMCA league before competing with several USA Swimming teams, including as an Unattached swimmer. I competed at the state level, primarily in distance freestyle and butterfly events. I also spent five summers training at the University of Tennessee under Head Coach Matt Kredich alongside several Olympic-level swimmers. During my competitive career, I had the opportunity to race against Olympian Amanda Weir at Georgia Tech.
I attended Sweet Briar College and the University of Tennessee before graduating from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Outside of the pool, I am a fifth-grade teacher at Carmel Elementary School, where I teach English Language Arts and Social Studies.
As a coach, I am passionate about creating a team culture built on hard work, accountability, confidence, and belonging. I believe success in swimming extends far beyond the times on a scoreboard. I am excited to build a program at Creekview that challenges athletes to grow as swimmers, teammates, leaders, and people.
I was born in Southern California, but grew up mostly in Colorado. I moved here to Georgia in the summer of 2014 to attend Kennesaw State where I graduated with a degree in Biology in 2017. After working as a Biologist, I decided to go back to Kennesaw for my Master’s Degree and become a high school teacher. I'm currently working on my Specialist degree in Science Education.
I have only been teaching for 5 years now and this is my fifth year as the Assistant Coach for Creekview High School.
I love all sports, so when I can, I am watching my favorite sport teams: the Dodgers, Broncos, and Lakers. I also love the outdoors so I go hiking and kayaking as often as I can!
Hi! My name is Maddie Logan, and I am excited to be the Junior Swim Coach! As a Cherokee County and Creekview Zone graduate, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me! I attended the University of North Georgia, where I earned a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am currently in my second year of teaching fifth grade at Macedonia Elementary School. My husband, Carter, and I live in Canton, where we enjoy spending our weekends taking walks, trying new recipes, and spending time with family and friends.
Swimming has been a major part of my life from a young age. I swam competitively with Swim Atlanta, Orange Shoals, and the Creekview Swim Team. During my senior year at Creekview, I had the honor of serving as team captain and competing at the GHSA State Meet each year.
I am passionate about helping young swimmers grow both in and out of the pool, and I look forward to building their skills, confidence, and love for the sport!
